Where a Conditioned Response is produced by a Conditioned Stimulus similar to the original Conditioned Stimulus e.g. A smaller  bell

 

Discrimination

     

 

Where a Conditioned Response is not produced by a Conditioned Stimulus that is too different to the original Conditioned Stimulus e.g. a buzzer rather than a bell

 

 

 

Extinction

 

Where the Conditioned Response ceases to be produced when the Conditioned Stimulus is repeatedly presented without the original Unconditioned Stimulus e.g. bell rung many times without food

 

Spontaneous Recovery

After response becomes extinct it may start up again if animal is returned to training condition
